All UI geeks at one point or another have referred back to Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report as a highlight in interface design. Its called spacial operating environment and John Underkoffler points out in this TED video clip that the technology is 15 years old, and the images seen in the movie were actually working prototypes, not after FX.
