Thomas Duval teamed up with sound designer Tacteel to create an amazing audio / visual online experience of Provence France called Snapshots of Provence.
The combination of photography, audio and video in one easy to navigate environment makes for one of the best online experiences out there. The navigation is experimental but 100% intuitive and fun to use. Users navigate Provence with the aid of geographically relevant environmental sounds. Select a specific area and pull into a full audio / visual experience of that area. Users also have the option of touring Provence via photography or video.
I love the simplistic yet very rich approach to this site, not only is it a very good display of interaction design but it does make you want to visit Provence, which is one of the reasons its prominently displayed on the local Provence tourist board website.
